What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials forms part of the UK’s National Cyber Security Programme to encourage businesses of all sizes to take steps towards achieving a good cyber security baseline.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is backed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and companies that implement these controls can protect themselves from up to 80% of common cyber threats.
A virus or ransomware could disrupt cash flow and productivity and cause damage to your reputation. Additionally, data loss could breach GDPR, resulting in fines or prosecution by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
With this in mind, adopting Cyber Essentials accreditation has become a requirement to win business in many sectors, including NHS contracts and education sectors.
